Flat Tummy Water

I don’t know about you but drinking water is not my thing. I personally have never liked drinking plain water and for most of my life I lived on diet sodas, coffee, and powders that you put into water to add flavor. Now that I’m living a healthy life, it’s back to basics for me (beveragely speaking) but, man, those basics sure are boring.

So when I saw this recipe for Flat Tummy Water from Step Into My Green World, I thought I’d died and gone to Hydration Heaven.

Flat Tummy Water not only tastes good but it’s also easy to make, inexpensive, and uses fresh, whole ingredients you can get at any grocery store. And, as the name implies, it helps reduce midsection bloat with digestion-enhancing ginger, cucumber, and lemon.

 Recipe

 6 cups filtered water

1 Tbsp grated ginger

1 lemon sliced

1 cucumber, sliced

1/3 mint leaves

Instructions

Let the mixture infuse overnight. Drink it all the next day.

Notes

Adding fruit to water gives water flavor with chemicals or sugar

Adding fruit infuses flavor without chemicals or sugar

What’s great about this recipe is that you can modify, alter and add ingredients to suite your tastes. I personally tend to add more ginger and less cucumber since I like my water a little “zippier.”

You can also “go rogue” and make the recipe your own – add frozen blueberries, apple slices, strawberries – why not?
